Big Poppy Flambe Vase by William Moorcroft

This is an delightful early “Big Poppy” flambe vase by William Moorcroft. William executed the Big Poppy pattern in a variety of colourways, with the dark blue backgrounds being more common and then these pale blue with red and blue poppies being much rarer. I have seen two of this colourway before, and was fortunate to acquire this one! With speckling of flambe red across the blue background and a shining glaze, this vase is a corker. Turn the vase over and the stems are a delight against the deepening blue foot of the vase.

The vase is in excellent original condition with no chips, cracks or restoration guaranteed. Beneath the foot, we have all present and correct. William Moorcroft’s flash signature in blue, togther with the Moorcroft stamp.
