Florian Ware Landscape Vase by William Moorcroft
Out of stock
Description
This is an early and rare Florian Ware Landscape design vase by William Moorcroft. The rich blue trees are set against a very subtle egg shell blue/white to create a striking contrast. Six tall main trees and three smaller trees are set on rolling hills with pathways sweeping into the distance. Gentle clouds sit in the backdrop to complete the landscape
Landscape patterns, including Dawn, Eventide and Moonlit Blue are all highly sought after and rare pieces for the collector and are considered prize pieces. Earlier Florian pieces are rarer still! William Moorcroft’s move to his new factory saw him focus on extending his collection of landscape offerings beyond Hazeldene. This resulted in the launch of Moonlit Blue in 1922. Thereafter followed Eventide, and later again the Dawn pattern. With the rolling hills, leafy trees with plumage and rich colourways, these pieces are as captivating now as they were in the 1920s!
The vase is in excellent original condition with no chips, cracks or restoration guaranteed. Beneath the foot, we have all present and correct. William Moorcroft’s full signature in green, togther with the MacIntyre Florian Ware stamps.
